My grandmother, Lim Siu Fa was born in Dili, East Timor.
In 1985, all seven of her children migrated for a safer and more stable life following the aftermath of violence caused by a war between East Timor and Indonesia. A year later, my grandmother too made the move to be reunited with her family for a new life in Darwin, Australia.
29 years later from our home in Darwin, she is searching for my name in her fading memories as she stares at me with her vivid blue-rimmed eyes.
